Bushings or bearings are one of the components that hold the gears in place inside the gearbox. You need to change the stock plastic bushings to metal bushings after any spring upgrade. Upgrading bushings or bearings achieves better support of the gear shaft as it rotates. Shims are one of the most important parts of the whole upgrade and are the small washers that keep proper spacing between the gears and the gearbox.
